A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to St Christopher’s School and to Friends of St Christopher’s website. The aim is to give you an outline of the role and aims of ‘Friends’.

The Role of Friends Of St Christopher’s

The main role of the Friends is to foster a feeling of community among the parents by organising social events and raising funds for the school. The Friends committee meets twice a term and consists of parents and some members of staff together with the headmaster. Additionally, every year group in the school, from Reception to Year Six, has a representative from the parents or guardians of that year (“form rep”). They play a vital role as a link between the committee and fellow parents, keeping you informed about the various events being organised or issues being discussed.

Events

The Friends organises a variety of events through the school year, including an end of year disco (usually in the summer term), which is attended by all pupils. As well as an end of year fete attended by all pupils, parents and teachers.  All our events are listed in the calendar issued to all pupils and details are also posted on this website.

Suggestions
We would like to hear from you if you have any suggestions for fundraising or if you are interested in becoming a form rep or committee member in the future. Nomination forms for the committee are sent out at the end of the summer term. Our AGM will be held in October so please come along to hear about our activities over the past year. Your form rep will keep you informed of all our news once the term is under way.  Details of the current committee and reps are posted below.

Our sponsored charity

We support Whizzkids and have done so for 2 years, giving them a proportion of the profits from our fundraising events.

I do hope the above has given you an idea of what the Friends is all about and I look forward to meeting you at one of our events in the future.
