Expeditions and Outings

At St Christopher's we believe that carefully selected and organised outings are an essential part of a child's education.  Every year group can expect to go on between three and six outings a year.     In Year 4 children go on a weekend trip to Fulmer Grange in Bucks and stay away from home with two members of staff. Senior pupils also go on a week-long trip to France - this year, Years 5 and 6 will be travelling over to the Chateau Broutel near Le Touquet. They will leave school early on a Monday morning and return after school hours on the Friday.

All trips, whether day trips or longer, are properly assessed in terms of risk and crisis management. Teachers have travelled to France to assess conditions at Chateau Broutel even though it has the highest possible rating in terms of safety. Most trips are transported via coach whilst a small number, usually for older pupils, are organised wih the assistance of TFL. This is very helpful training for the future as we send pupils to schools necessitating tube travel almost every year.
