A Day at St Christopher's - Academics, Sports, Clubs, Outings & Activities

What happens during a day at St Christopher's?

Life at St Christopher's is full of challenge.   Each child is encouraged to aim for a high standard of academic achievement in a well-structured, disciplined and stimulating environment.     Therefore when children enter the school at 8.40 am they know that their teacher is waiting for them in their classroom.   This is a good time to catch up on any unfinished work or ask any necessary questions.
Children in the pre-prep age groups have three one hour work sessions and two short breaks in the morning.   Children in the prep age groups have four lessons and one central break.
The children enjoy their packed lunches at 12.30pm after parents have worked hard and shown great ingenuity and invention where providing interesting and healthy packed lunches is concerned.  Chocolate, fizzy drinks and crisps are banned.
After lunch the children enjoy a lengthy break before returning to the classroom for afternoon lessons.
The afternoon timetable is similar for both groups.
At the end of the day, the children have the choice of going home at 3.30pm, staying for any available clubs or activities or staying on at school until as late as 5.30pm in Aftercare.   Mrs Ossowski and her Aftercare staff provide a wholesome snack and a myriad of games and activities.  Older children are able to finish their homework in Aftercare.   If it is warm enough, children play outside.
When the children go home they are usually tired but contented.
Our day is a full one.
