The Curriculum

The Form teacher is a child's mainstay, ensuring stability and continuity although there are specialist teachers in PE, Music, IT, Games and Speech and Drama.

The National Curriculum is used as a guide to our enhanced and demanding school curriculum - this is demanding as it serves the requirements of our chosen senior schools.

Full Parents' Evenings are held twice a year with further optional appointments being available in the Summer.  Close parent-teacher contact is maintained at all times.  Homework requirements are clearly stated for each year group.

Whilst we allocate much of each morning to the study of Maths, English and Science, we always remember the importance of a curriculum that has both breadth and depth.  Much cross-curricular work is conducted between both Arts, Sciences and ICT and we see the product of such an investment in the excellent 11+ results each and every year.

The children develop independence and responsibility, tolerance and respect.  Supportive staff encourage individuality and self-confidence in preparation for their senior school environment.

Our curriculum encourages a love of learning and rewards every child.
