The Curriculum

The Form teacher is a child's mainstay, ensuring stability and continuity although there are specialist teachers in PE, Music, IT, Games and Speech and Drama. The National Curriculum is used as a guide to our enhanced and demanding school curriculum - this is demanding as it serves the requirements of our chosen senior schools. Full Parents' Evenings are held twice a year with further optional appointments being available in the Summer. Close parent-teacher contact is maintained at all times. Homework requirements are clearly stated for each year group. |
Whilst we allocate much of each morning to the study of Maths, English and Science, we always remember the importance of a curriculum that has both breadth and depth. Much cross-curricular work is conducted between both Arts, Sciences and ICT and we see the product of such an investment in the excellent 11+ results each and every year. The children develop independence and responsibility, tolerance and respect. Supportive staff encourage individuality and self-confidence in preparation for their senior school environment. Our curriculum encourages a love of learning and rewards every child. |
